It's a unisex rucksack for calm, positive and safe city travel. It is only available on Kickstarter - crowdfunding platform - from Monday 27 October 2014.

RiutSurveys Thank you to over 1000 commuters and city dwellers who took the RiutSurveys this year! Your responses - especially your concerns and hopes - have helped me shape this prototype at every stage.

Spot the zips Have a closer look. The RiutBag has no zips on its outer shell. They are all neatly stored against your back. So when you're wearing it no one can access your belongings better than you.

Functionality It holds up to a 15" laptop, tablet and stores A4 papers straight. It has a pocket for your keys, phone and wallet. All functional features are symmetrical for left and right handed users.

Philosophy Riut stands for Revolution in user thinking. This is the design philosophy behind every decision on the RiutBag. I've revolved every zip, seam, pocket and material around the urban commuter and city traveller.

I want every urban rucksack to take this next step in design development. The city isn't going away, so it's time to adapt and strive for better quality of life on your commute and on holiday.

Impact on the user Riut is not just my design philosophy; it's the impact I want the RiutBag to have on you when you use it. RiutBag launches on Kickstarter on Monday 27 October 2014. If enough people like the idea and want to back it by buying a bag in advance, Riut will be able to get the first production run made and sent out to backers! If it isn't supported on Kickstarter, the RiutBag will remain in prototype form. No RiutBags will be available to own!
